Reference Data Overview

This search section presents general reference information from the Division's databases. All pages provide options for data to be searched, sorted, and saved to csv (spreadsheet) files. Click on items in the blue menu bar above to navigate the system.

Codes

This reference section presents basic codes used by the division in many reports and database applications.

Company Data

This search section presents basic address and status information for oil and gas operators (past and present) in the state of Utah. This file is not intended for use as a mailing list, as it contains many companies that are no longer in business. Many of the addresses represent company offices where production reporting is handled. Companies labeled as "active" are currently involved in permitting activities, drilling, and/or operating wells in Utah. Those shown as "inactive" may no longer be in business in Utah or their address may have been set up for tax purposes only.

Formations

This option presents the full name and abbreviation of each oil and gas producing formation used in the Division's databases.

Fields

This search form allows the user to view each field name and its assigned number.

Entity Data

This search option presents entity number information. An "entity" is an identifing number used mainly for product disposition tracking. It represents a well or group of wells that have identical division of interest, have the same operator, produce from the same formation, and have product sales from a common tank, tank battery, LACT meter, gas meter, or are in the same participating area of a properly designated unit.
