Disposition Search Overview
This section presents monthly disposition information of oil and gas well production. All pages provide options for data to be searched, sorted, and saved to csv (spreadsheet) files. Click on items in the blue menu bar above to navigate the system.
Search Disposition Data
This form allows users to search for and export oil and gas disposition information. The data includes monthly opening inventories, production and disposition volumes, and closing inventories, by entity1, from April 1984 through current report month (Note: Disposition reports are due to the division within 45 days following the month of production. Several more weeks may then be necessary for processing and data entry before data appears here.).
Oil volumes are reported in Barrels (1 Barrel = 42 U.S. Gallons).
Gas volumes are reported in MCF (1 MCF = 1,000 cubic feet).NOTE: Attempts to use the "Export ALL Results to File" option for large amounts of data (multiple entities for multiple report periods) will often cause "timeout" problems and a failure to export the data. Try restricting your search to a smaller dataset or try using the Database Download Files (Disposition Data) in the "Data Research Center" as alternative solutions.
1 An "entity" is an identifying number used mainly for product disposition tracking by the Division of Oil, Gas and Mining, the Utah State Tax Commission, and the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration. It usually represents a well or group of wells that have identical division of interest, have the same operator, produce from the same formation, and have product sales from a common tank, tank battery, LACT meter, gas meter, or are in the same participating area of a properly designated unit.
